Dr. Adamu is very passionate about leveling the education playing field by improving the quality of education in developing countries and this passion spurred her to set up Education Enrichment Projects (EEP) in 2008. EEP provided teacher training workshops and seminars; provided guidance to schools in the Federal Capital Territory on administration, manpower development, publications, school wide issues, and improvement strategies; partnered with financial agencies such as Aso Savings and Skye bank (now Polaris) to provide subsidized professional development opportunities to teachers and schools; recruited both internationally and locally.
Dr. Adamu also founded a New York based company (Intergraid LLC) in 2016, as well as Intergraid Edu Projects (Nigeria) in 2019. Intergraid is guided by belief in the power of a good education in bridging the gap between developing and developed nations and places great value on knowledge and information sharing. With a strong team of US and Nigerian based educators, Intergraid created INSTEP, a professional development initiative and teacher in-service training product.
As an author and researcher, Dr. Adamu’s research produced a framework for integrating international students in universities and colleges overseas (relational interplay in sociocultural adaptation). She also identified and posited a theory called “Identity Transposition”. Dr Adamu is part of the Doctoral Educational Leadership Advisory Council at Manhattanville College in New York. She is also a Doctoral Dissertation Supervisor.
In March 2020, Dr Adamu and Olena Nedryhailo (Official representative of UCCI in Nigeria) signed a memorandum creating the Ukrainian Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that connects students with socio-economic challenges with scholarship opportunities and facilitates their entry into learning institutions in Ukraine. One of the goals of the foundation is enhancing the skills of Nigerian youths for the development of the nation.
